Patients living with cardiovascular conditions often require multiple medications. As new therapies are approved, management guidelines for cardiovascular conditions must constantly evolve to reflect new evidence. PTCE’s Cardiology Day of Education will feature a more in-depth exploration of the pathophysiology, current treatment guidelines, and emerging therapies for complex cardiovascular conditions, including hyperlipidemia, heart failure, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. In each of these conditions, pharmacists have significant roles in identifying patients with risk factors for poor prognosis, optimizing treatment, and supporting patient-centered interventions to improve clinical outcomes. This full-day program offers participants multiple opportunities to reinforce key concepts in the treatment and management of cardiovascular diseases. Case-based discussions incorporated into the sessions will allow participants to evaluate shared clinical decision-making for treatment initiation, consider the potential place in the treatment paradigm for emerging therapies, and practice solutions for current challenges in the management of therapies for patients with hyperlipidemia, heart failure, and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
