Patients with neurological conditions often face significant challenges in managing their symptoms and adhering to complex medication schedules. Many neurological treatments include specialty medications, requiring prior authorizations and navigating complex insurance processes. Pharmacists, especially those in specialty pharmacies, play a vital role in ensuring patients can access these critical therapies. PTCE’s 2025 Neurology Day of Education will focus on disorders of the central nervous system, including multiple sclerosis, narcolepsy, and migraine. These neurological conditions can involve similar underlying neurobiological mechanisms, such as inflammation, neurotransmitter imbalances, immune system dysfunction, and disruptions in neural pathways. All 3 conditions can profoundly impact a patient’s daily life, work, social relationships, and overall well-being, leading to similar challenges in terms of disability and economic burden. Throughout the day, experts will share insights the latest therapeutic advancements—including novel drug classes and evolving guidelines—and practical strategies for addressing challenges such as medication adherence. Some sessions will also feature patient case discussions to inform patient-centered care and education.
