Type 2 inflammation represents a significant and often debilitating burden on patients worldwide. This chronic immune response underlies a spectrum of allergic and inflammatory conditions, impacting millions and often leading to a diminished quality of life, increased health care utilization, and substantial socioeconomic costs. PTCE’s 2025 Immunology Specialty Pharmacy Day of Education is designed to equip pharmacists with advanced knowledge of the overlap of type 2-mediated conditions, including atopic dermatitis, asthma, chronic spontaneous urticaria, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, that often share these inflammatory pathways. In recent years, the landscape of treatment for type 2 inflammatory conditions has expanded with the approvals of several biologic therapies. These highly targeted medications specifically interrupt key inflammatory pathways, offering improved efficacy for patients who experienced limitations with conventional treatments. The optimal use of these biologic therapies requires pharmacist to navigate high costs, complex administration, specialized storage requirements, and ensure careful monitoring. This Day of Education will equip pharmacists with the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to effectively identify patients living with type 2 inflammatory conditions, optimize their treatment outcomes with biologics, and support adherence and access to treatment.
