In an age of widespread misinformation, particularly regarding vaccines, pharmacists can be a trusted source for evidence-based information, helping to dispel myths and build vaccine confidence to support public health strategies. Infectious and vaccine-preventable diseases pose a significant threat to public health, but through routine interactions, pharmacists can identify patients who might be at a high risk for certain infections (eg, those with compromised immune systems) and recommend appropriate screenings, prevention strategies, or vaccinations.  PTCE’s 2025 Infectious Disease Day of Education is designed to highlight the crucial connection between pharmacist clinical practice and public health. Kicking off the day, the keynote address will provide a crucial foundation for understanding infectious disease management and safety, focusing on best practices and proactive measures to ensure a secure environment for both health care providers and the patients they serve. Subsequent sessions will delve into the complexities of infectious diseases, including the chronic challenges of HIV and administration considerations for long-acting injectable and orally administered therapies. The day will also explore cutting-edge advancements in vaccine science, with a focus on immunogenicity and duration of protection provided by different meningococcal vaccines and developments in flu-cell vaccine technology. Recognizing the growing impact of vaccine hesitancy on community immunity, a panel of experts will explore pharmacist-led strategies to effectively address patient concerns and promote vaccine confidence.
